Making A Car Out Of Bamboo.
Found in the Visayan area of the Philippine archipelago, Tabontabon, Leyte introduced 3 model automobiles made of bamboo. This fifth-class municipality situated thirty kilometers south of the busy Tacloban Town developed these green autos as part of environment-friendly projects lead by Mayor Rustico Balderian.
Apart from the eco-cars, a water recycling hardware is also on his agenda. He also takes part in livelihood projects making use of plastic wastes which are employed in making slippers, bricks and bags. All of these projects are based mostly on his support for the global warming campaign.
Tabontabon’s location is the first reason why they ventured in auto assembly. Jeepneys, which are meant to be the main style of transport, infrequently take the route going there thanks to the longer period it has to fill the jeepneys with passengers. As a consequence, the passengers like taking a motorcycle ride known as habal-habal which at last became the main method of transport when going to the place.
The Mayor sees it to be a good way to draw in accidents.
Due to this, Balderian, with assistance from his voters and the out-of-school youth, he conducted an experiment with a three-wheeler and a vehicle with an one-cylinder engine. After many tests and adjustments, they created two-cylinder engines that run on biofuel which is coconut-based.
The body is made of native materials.
Under the Tabontabon Organic Transport Industry ( TOTI ) livelihood programs, the municipality is content to present three model cars. Eco one, designed by Balderian, can seat twenty people ( the driver included ), and made with native materials excepting the engine, flooring, tires and frame. Eco two has a capacity of 6. Seventy % of the vehicle is made from bamboo and has a stereo system.
Eco three is an upgraded version of Eco two. It can seat six passengers and the body is ninety percent made from bamboo. All green autos can run for eight hours using biodiesel and can climb up a twenty p.c. incline. These eco friendly autos show that organics still has a part in today’s ultra modern world.
Balderian expounded the bamboo’s strength is larger than steel.
He further said the green vehicles can last ten years using polyurethane to endure heat and rain. Tabontabon’s eco autos may serve as models to employ Mother Nature’s natural present to us.
Another excellent method of preserving the environment is by employing natural wax candles and all natural candles. Thru this easy way, you can support the green campaign.
